The most rewarding part of being a nurse educator is my students. It is rewarding to have been (and to continue being) a part of their journey, watching their professional growth, and seeing all the amazing ways they make an extraordinary difference in this world.

I am a new nurse, but it feels like I’ve been a nurse for years already lol. I started my journey in the medical field in 2010 as a CNA and in 2011 I started my first round of nursing round of nursing school, but I wasn’t successful. I like to think that God has a timing for everything and after 4 years of exploring other career paths, I graduated #3 in the class of Nursing school this past December 2015 and after taking NCLEX twice I officially became a LPN on February 26th. I feel like you have to have a calling to become a nurse and I’m so thankful that God saw fit to make it happen for me. I’m a living testimony that you can do anything you put your mind to. I’m proud to be a nurse because I know I’m making a difference in people’s lives whether at work, home, or even in the community I strive to be a great nurse for my children to look up to and be proud to call me their mom, but most importantly to get those 2 words at the end of my time here “Well Done” I have been blessed so I am thankful to be able to be a blessing unto others..

I chose my career as a Recreation Therapy Specialist because I wanted a career that I enjoyed every single moment of! I go to work every single day to not only change the lives of my patients but to have fun doing it as well! I have worked with children with disabilities, seniors with Alzheimer’s coupled with mental/behavioral health disturbances, as well as the general population of individuals with mental/behavioral health issues from age 3 to over 100 years old. It’t rewarding knowing that I make a difference in their lives.
