One word. One word sets my beach-loving soul on fire. You ready? FLORIDA! I was so excited when I found out I had been assigned to this review. I immediately began dreaming of the beach. Although I never made it to the sand and sun, I had an awesome time in Jacksonville with my Floridian students!
Jacksonville University is located in the Arlington area of Jacksonville, Florida. If you need some location details, the campus is only a few miles from EverBank Field, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars. On my morning commute from downtown Jacksonville (which is EVERYTHING, by the way) , I passed EverBank Field daily. The view coming over the bridge and the St. Johns River is breathtaking!
The group of students I taught this past week were very engaged! Comfort is a key element in the learning process, and boy, were their chairs comfy! The class was held in the Brooks College of Health Care Sciences building, and technology was everywhere!! SmartBoards, wireless systems…an IT lover’s wildest dream…or worst nightmare!! The campus was beautiful and even though I locked my keys to the rental car in the trunk and missed my flight, Jacksonville University showed me a great time!
Thank you again to the students and faculty of Jacksonville University for your hospitality! I had a blast!
