What a great month July is shaping up to be! I got an awesome Fix this month. My normal stylist, Lauren, was on vacation, but Britt did an awesome job! I am also super excited, because this month I have teamed up with an awesome blogger friend of mine to bring you a “Boho Chic” collaboration! Don’t hesitate to visit Shannon with Gamine & Stripes to see how she styled a cold-shoulder dress from her Fix!
For July, I asked for cute summery pieces that are easy to wear. I also asked for a dressy, flowy maxi dress. Britt delivered! Unfortunately, I had a few fit issues and didn’t have enough time to contact customer service for a size exchange. So, some of my favorite pieces had to be returned. Now, if you are unfamiliar with Stitch Fix, you can check out how Stitch Fix works and how to get your best Fix by clicking here. This is where you will find detailed information about the service and how to get pieces in your Fix that you love! Now, let the party begin!
Street Level Benian Chain Detail Tote in Tan ($68.00) Outcome: YOU’RE MINE!!
This tote is so versatile and roomy! I love the neutral color of it as well. It pairs with pretty much everything! Did you check out the little zippered pouch that came with this bag, too? This is perfect for those smaller items that tend to get lost in the depths of a large handbag. I would say this one is pretty much a win!
Pixley Ranya Crochet Trim Dress in Blue ($78.00) Outcome: RETURNED
I wasn’t in love with this piece when I took it out of the box. I liked it, but didn’t love it. When I tried it on, however, I REALLY wanted to love it. The length is good and the color is so pretty. It is a very vibrant shade of blue. It also is a very easy fit. Simple to throw on for quick runs into town. I really wanted to love this dress….however, there was a slight fit issue. I am at a weird stage where I am in between sizes. I really could have gone down a size in this dress, then it would have fit in the top half better. Since I reign supreme as “Queen Procrastinator,” I didn’t think to contact customer service for a size exchange until it was too late. Other than a slight issue with fit, this one is a winner!
Papermoon Gunilla Lace Detail Top in Teal Green ($48.00) Outcome: COME TO MAMA!
This top was another that I just liked instead of loved out of the box. The color is perfect! So bright and fun! When I tried this one on, I was so surprised that I missed the beauty of the neckline when looking at it. The lace detailing at the neck is so beautiful and creates a lovely silhouette. It’s a little dreamy and also quite romantic! Something about lace done correctly can make a girl feel beautiful. This top makes me feel that way! I also love that it can be styled so many different ways! Check the end of this post to see how I styled this top for work, the weekend, and wherever!
Collective Concepts Mikoh Crochet Strap Top in Pink ($54.00) Outcome: RETURNED
I love floral print. Flowers make me happy. This one did strike me as being too “busy” when I saw it out of the box. I also found it hard to pair with bottoms I already owned. Jeans and jean shorts are about the only thing I could come up with. Pairing this top with jeans actually helped to calm down the print. I loved the way this top fit. I just couldn’t justify keeping it when I felt so limited in how I could wear it. So, back it went.
THML Tiburon Embroidered Maxi Dress in Cobalt ($78.00) Outcome: SADLY RETURNED
This dress!!! I thought of every excuse to not send this back. I couldn’t handle the fit issue on my own. I ended up having the same fit issue with this dress as I did with the other dress in this Fix. Too big in the top! Let’s explore everything that is right with this dress. The colors are great. I love the bold pop of orange against the cobalt. The cut and silhouette of this dress is beautiful as well. Another great outcome is the length. Most times, maxi dresses can be a little too long. I’m slightly below average height. I am barefoot in the picture (to add to the Bohemian theme,) but a nice stacked heel or some wedges would pair perfectly with this! I may try to see if Lauren can send me this in a different size next Fix, if it is available. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
A 2/5 Fix is fine by me! I only keep what I love, so this is fine! Now, lets see some ways I styled one of my kept items, the Papermoon Gunilla Lace Detail Top.
For Free Spirits who venture wherever
For this look, I paired the Papermoon top with flowy, wide-leg palazzo pants from H&M. This is an easy look for when and wherever! I am barefoot in this picture, but you could pair this look with wedges or some glam sandals and you are ready to go!
Looking Chic For Your 9-5
I’m a traveling nursing instructor, so my work wear category is business casual. I paired the Papermoon top with a Brixton Ivy Skirt from a previous Fix, a neutral blazer from Forever 21, and my favorite peep-toe heels from Giani Bini (Dillard’s.) Switch out the heels for a great pair flats and you’re comfy all day. Don’t forget totally cute and professional!
For your Wandering Weekend
For a fun, weekend look, I paired the Papermoon top with these cute coral and white shorts by Giani Bini (Dillard’s) and neutral wedges by Bamboo (source unknown.) Flat sandals would also look amazing if you don’t wear heels of any kind.
I hope you guys have an awesome rest of the Summer! Don’t forget to visit my friend Shannon at Gamine & Stripes for her awesome styling of a dress from her Fix! Let us know what you think! You can also email us anytime at ag@nursingforall.com
Have a stylish summer,
