Happy Holidays, Stitch Fixers! I hope you all are having a wonderful time full of family, friends, food, and….FIXES! This month, I asked my stylist, Lauren, for a great mix of comfortable/cute and work appropriate Holiday items. Lauren really nailed this one on the head! Since it is the “most wonderful time of the year,” my wallet seems to be a little light! Budget was very important this month and I committed to only keeping one item out of my Fix. Lauren made this very difficult, but where there is a will, there is a way!
As always, you can check out exactly how Stitch Fix works, more about the service, and how to get a great Fix, by clicking here! This will tell you everything you need to know about Stitch Fix, if you are new or unfamiliar with the service. Let’s see what Lauren sent my way this month!
Daniel Rainn Waterman Split Neck Blouse in Black ($68) STATUS: Returned
This top is very comfortable and has a nice fit. I love the fact that it is easily dressed up or down, which makes it a nice staple piece for work. The little “flowery floaters” detail is a nice touch as well to this basic black blouse. I did return this one because I am not this biggest fan of wearing black. I have actually changed my style profile to reflect this. The only time of year I like to wear black is for Southern Miss football games! Also, this top is tab-sleeved. I usually send back anything with a tab sleeve due to the way it fits at my elbow. This sleeve is a good bit longer and can be let out. It just wasn’t love, so I returned it. I paired this top with an “arm party” of bracelets, one of which is my Chloe + Isabel Bead + Chain Multi-Wrap bracelet in black and gold.
Margaret M Electra Dress in Black ($98) STATUS: Returned
Hello, Mrs. Griffin! This dress is form-fitting and classy. Length is perfect for work. It is a little tight in the midsection for my taste. Also, it is black (so you already know how I feel.) I do like the print on the dress, which breaks up the black canvas. I was worried about being able to zip this dress myself, due to the zipper being in the back. This dress was very easy to put on and the zipper glides very easily. I returned this dress mainly because it was black. Also, because it is too fitted in the midsection and it isn’t really my style. I’m more of a fun, trendy kind of girl. This dress made me feel too grown up. I’m a lot like Peter Pan…I have no intentions of ever acting my age! So, back it went. Again, I paired this dress with an “arm party,” including my Chloe> + Isabel Bead + Wrap bracelet in black and gold.
41Hawthorn Teva Popover Scuba Dress in Burgundy ($78) STATUS: So torn…but returned!
Cuteness overload! First of all, this dress is much more my style! It is super cute and comfortable, but still very dressy and work appropriate! The length and fit are perfect. The color is amazing for the Winter/Holiday season. This dress has a side zipper, so no worries about zipping the dress. The popover style is very flattering and the cutout detail is an added cute feature! I was so torn about this dress. The price is a little expensive. I also own a very similar dress (in Mint,) that I scored at one of my favorite local boutiques for half the price of this one. I really consider many elements when I choose an item to keep. So, I decided to return this dress due to that fact. My “arm party” is here again, but I also paired this dress with my Chloe + Isabel Maven Plumage Convertible Necklace.
BRIXON IVY Fierro Elbow Patch Crew Neck Sweater in Grey ($58) STATUS: Returned
If I didn’t already own a very similar sweater, this one would have been mine! While this sweater is very plain from the front, it is extremely soft and comfortable. This is the kind of sweater I would wear on a travel day for work. It is very airplane friendly! Along with being incredibly soft, the lace detail elbow patch is adorable! Such a sweet detail to this basic grey sweater is a plus. The sweater I own is very similar to this one, except the lace detail is at the hem of the sweater. I am really trying to add different pieces to my closet, so I opted to return this one. My “arm party” is here again and my Maven convertible necklace!
Octavia Garland Floral Print Infinity Scarf in Blue ($28) Status: Kept!
Since I love color and print, this piece was right up my alley! First of all, I own nothing like this. The few scarves I own are much more appropriate for very cold weather. With the unpredictable weather that Mississippi offers, having a lighter-weight scarf is a great idea. Plus, it is darling! I love the colors as well! Since I am a Chloe + Isabel “Merchie”, these colors are a must for a pop-up! I have numerous items in my closet that this will pair nicely with, so I decided this should be my keeper item!
A huge shout-out to Lauren for being such an awesome stylist, and to Stitch Fix for waiving my styling fee for this Fix! You guys rock! I already can’t wait until next month to see what goodies I’ll be able to add to my closet! Also, Stitch Fix gift cards are an amazing gift, especially for those who may want to try out the service!
